Spazi in Frutto – Open Orchard

The collective and interdisciplinary project, Spazi in Frutto – Open Orchard recovers ancient varieties of fruit trees from the Belluno alpine territory to create a network of gardens and fruit orchards for public or collective use as cultural spaces, where social, artistic, educational and shared work activities take place, in semi-rural mountain areas.

The ancient varieties appeal to the memories of the inhabitants and to a way of cultivating the territory that is not intensive. With the nurturing of new trees and gardens, Spazi in Frutto involves a dozen different communities and over a hundred families in the practices of landscape care, understood as the environment and the people who live there.
